Some Thoughts on Sailor Moon

I believe I must have seen the Sailor Moon anime the first time it was broadcast in the US. It now seems strange to me that I liked the show so much when I'm a guy and the show is so obviously aimed toward teenage girls.

Why is that so obvious? Sailor Moon is a school girl. She is someone the average school girl could imagine herself to be. She looks like a normal girl who was granted magical powers. If not for the presence of Luna, the talking cat, she wouldn't have a clue on what to do with her powers.

Let me describe a typical Sailor Moon battle when she was the only Senshi fighting the bad guys. She poses, she makes her little speech about how she will punish the villain and then the monster of the week attacks. Moon screams and ducks, screams and dodges a few times. After a few scenes of that she finally uses her magic attack and takes out the monster.

In the later episodes she lost the tiara attack and with it went the main aggressive fighting move she had. In those later series she had to wait for the other Senshi to weaken the monster before she could use her attack to either destroy it, or (if the monster was a possessed human) to cure, exorcise or otherwise free them from possession.

Any series of Sailor Moon, be it R, S, Super S or Sailor Stars followed a formula. When it came down to the final confrontation between the good guys and the bad guys, it was almost always Moon alone. And she always won, not because of the excellence of her fighting skills, but because of her unquenchable courage and her loving, compassionate heart. (A very WAFFy concept.)

So how did a guy like me get interested in a show that was aimed at girls so much? I explained it to a relative not long ago. What attracted me because during the transformation sequences of Moon and the other Senshi going from just girls to superheroes, they are naked for a part of it. True, all you ever see is a glowing silhouette, or in some cases a rear view before the costume appears. So it was more the idea of nudity than anything.

After a few decades I have matured (at least I hope so) and my perspectives have changed. I recently took advantage of the fact that it is possible to view episodes of the show online and viewed all of the Sailor Moon TV show. I found that my feelings have changed. It is still a good story, but I found that Moon's pathetic lack of fighting skills bothered me.

I would think that Usagi would have enough intelligence (either her own or through the advice of her cat companion) to see that it would be in her best interest to get some martial arts training. From her performance against the monster-of-the-week, it would appear that the only practice she got was in actual battles. The other Senshi seem to improve in their fighting skills and I don't just mean getting more powerful attacks.

Is there a point to this article? I'm getting to it. I'm an avid reader of fan fictions and through that came to start writing them. So far the only fics I've written were Ranma 1/2 or crossovers. I've written Ranma/Sailor Moon crossovers where Ranma becomes Sailor Terra and I've written one where he becomes Sailor Galaxy (Not Galaxia).

I've read many fics where Ranma becomes one of the regular Senshi. In those he's become pretty much every one of the Senshi. Although now that I think about it I don't recall seeing one where he became Venus, but I've seen fics where he is Mars or Jupiter or Saturn. A good one that I remember is "Forever the Tomboy" where he became Neptune.

I've read some where Ranma was a stand in or replacement Moon. I've even read where he became a bizarre Usagi clone or turned into Usagi. I don't really feel those qualify as Ranma stories, because she acts almost nothing like Ranma.

With that thought in mind I came up with my own concept for Ranma as Sailor Moon. Obviously it is an AU but one twist on this is that they know they are in an AU. The prologue I have written features a meeting where the current Pluto of this AU meets with the future version of herself and they have a chat.

What the current Sailor Pluto perceives as a problem is that the Senshi are born way too late. And yet the Negaverse doesn't start attacking until toward the end of the first decade of the 21st century. At this point, the Senshi are not 14 year old Junior High students, they are 17 and 18 year old Juniors in high school. In addition, the current Pluto has not been able to find the reborn Princess.

Future Pluto explains that things are not happening the way current Pluto expected because they were on an alternate timeline. She hadn't been able to find the princess because she was looking for a blonde haired girl when the reborn princess was born as a black haired boy. That black haired boy had gained the ability to change into a red haired girl.

When Luna found Ranma she tried to do a mind meld to cure him of the Nekoken. As I write it, the attempt works but caused Ranma to gain full and total access to memories of the Silver Millennium. That way we know right from the start that there is no need to "search for the Princess." She is also friends with Ami, Makoto and is trying to make Rei her girlfriend so she knows right from the start who the rest of the Inners are.

When cured of the Cat-fist, Ranma has courage to spare, just like canon Sailor Moon. I can also see him having the love and compassion in his heart for facing down the boss at the end of the story arc. But before he (as she) has the skill and strength to seriously kick butt. On top of that he will train the rest of the Senshi.

Well, for now that's all I'm going to say, because I don't want to give too many spoilers about my story.

Story Concepts

Story Ideas

I thought I would spend a little time brain storming ideas for stories. Just because I have them written down here doesn't mean that I will develop all of them myself. The reason I'm posting this on my blog is to see if I can get some feedback from people to see what reaction they have to these ideas. Hopefully my readers will see the ideas and give some suggestions on which ideas they feel are worth being developed and which are not.

I would also welcome suggestions for ideas on how to develop these concepts into stories. Feel free to suggest concepts you might have for totally different stories or for variations on the ideas that I have listed.

If one of these ideas inspires someone out there to write their own fic, that's great too. I would make one request in that regard. If you do write your own fic based on one of my ideas, please at least list me as an inspiration.



Ranma-Taro match up story idea

I sort of like the idea of unusual romantic match ups. A case in point is "Happi's Redemption." That was started as a story about how an old man could use water from Spring of Drowned Young girl to keep from dying of old age. I ended up turning it into a romantic match up between Ranma and Happosai turned girl.

In keeping with that I was thinking of a match up between Ranma and Pantyhose Taro. The premise that came to me was that Ranma would take pity on the monster boy and help get Happosai to change his name. However in the fight Happosai is killed and Ranma gets locked as a girl.

Taro feels guilty and tries to make it up to Ranma and they find they actually can like each other. From there love blossoms. This will need work to develop it into a story.

Ranma/Taro idea #2

Not sure if I can really imagine a plot that would work with this concept. How would the story develop if Ranma got the Chimera curse like Taro did. I did just think what it might be like if Ranma turned into a female version of the chimera that Taro turns into. Could there be a romance develop between monster boy and monster girl?

Ranma-chan with Gosunkugi Hikaru

I've read one lemon fic where Ranma in girl form has sex with Gosunkugi, and one where I'd have to read it over more carefully to be sure. (In that one nearly every cast member is having sex with nearly every other cast member.) I don't think I've read any fics where Hikaru ever has a serious relationship with Ranma.

I do recall that in the fic Lonely Souls the spirit of the vengeful doll gets put into a body cloned from Akane and that person starts to date the boy.

My thought was to try and come up with a story where Ranma actually finds that there is more to Hikaru than just voodoo, a crush on Akane and other general creepiness.

Ranma/Konatsu

I actually started writing an opening chapter on this one. The idea here is that Happosai had found a way to destroy Ranma's boy side. He does that and then tries to cast a spell to make girl Ranma his love slave. The talisman he uses won't allow itself to be used for mind control spells and Happi is killed.

Ranma gets disowned and goes to live with Ukyo. Ukyo discovers that she can't live with the idea of a lesbian relationship with Ranma and so opts just for friendship. Denied the practice of Anything Goes, Ranma starts to study ninjitsu with Konatsu. Romance develops (he can't wait forever for Ukyo.)

Ranma-Kodachi match up story idea

Just a vague concept at this point. I was thinking that something that might snap the Black Rose out of her delusions might be getting a Naniichuan curse. The thought I have here is that at the Wedding the cask of Naniichuan water is not drunk by Happosai, but instead gets splashed on Kodachi.

Now cursed to turn into a part time man, she is forced to re-evaluate many of the truths of her life. One of them is the obsession with her Ranma-Sama. She now comes to realize that the "absurd story" that he and the "red haired hussy" are the same person must be true. Love blossoms.

Idea for Ranma/Nodoka lemon

Nodoka has been getting worried since the failed wedding. Even though she had declared that Ranma was manly enough even with the curse, she has found out things that have brought his manliness into doubt. There is the fact that even with all of the fiancees he hasn't bedded even one of them. She wonders if he is starting to accept the curse to the point where he might be turning feminine.

Because of these thoughts, a new plan is needed. In order to turn Ranma to the Manly side she must find a way to see to it that he starts to indulge in his manly urges. He must bed one or more of his fiancees or some other woman. She needs to get Ranma having sex even if she has to seduce him herself.

Ranma/Nodoka Idea #2

I just like Ranma and Nodoka as a couple. One possibility I could think of is that Nodoka is just a total slut. Genma took Ranma on the training trip to get the boy away from his mother's nymphomaniac tendencies. When Nodoka finds out that her son is back in town, she drops by at the dojo. After doing the bit with Ranko, she finally tries to seduce the cute girl and during sex with her finds out that Ranko is really Ranma. Delighted to learn of this, she settles into a semi permanent relationship with the aquatranssexual.

Ranma/Nodoka Idea #3

Another idea goes at Ranma/Nodoka incest from the opposite direction. How about this: at the Wedding the cask of Naniichuan water lands on Nodoka and gives her the man curse. At first she is horrified, but she eventually decides that she likes being a man and will strive to become manly as she sees it. As part of Nodoka's becoming "manly" she divorces Genma and develops a plan to seduce Ranma in girl form, and male form as well as to have sex with as many of Ranma's suitors as she/he can. Basically she gets to practice what she preaches (at least in fanon.) I could see Ranma ending up pregnant from sex with her male-form mother.

Ranma/Nodoka Idea #4

I've got two ways for this concept to work. The basis is for Shampoo to bring some kind of drugged ramen for Ranma to eat. I could see it where the first woman that Ranma looks at after eating the ramen is his mother. He falls in love and sets out to seduce her. This could also work if Nodoka accidentally eats the drugged food and the first man she sees is Ranma. From that point she would then try to seduce her son. The concept would end with them permanently together. It could also be some kind of magic that does the same thing.

Actually, it occurs to me that the concept works better if Ranma and Nodoka both eat the drugged ramen at the same time. That way I could see both of them eagerly hopping into bed together.

Ranma/Nodoka Idea #5

I'm not sure how well this would work but I'm willing to put the idea up to see how people respond to it. This would be the result of a mixup or miscommunication. Nodoka came over to visit the Tendo dojo and decided to stay the night. She went to the guest room that Ranma and Genma share and takes one of the futons. Genma and Soun are out drinking, so they are not a factor.

Then Ranma gets home and is really tired so he goes right to bed without bothering to look at who is in the other futon. In the night, Nodoka wakes up and can hear the sound of someone breathing. Believing that Genma was the one she heard, she moves over to that futon and starts kissing, etc. By the time she and Ranma realize who they are having sex with, it is too late to stop.

If I addressed the idea of where they go from there, it could be a series. Otherwise it would likely end up being a one shot. I would also welcome suggestions for how a Ranma/Nodoka pairing could get started and how it could continue.

Ranma/Nodoka idea #6

I read one fic where Ranma and Nodoka got together through a case of mistaken identity. In that Nodoka was horny and turned to a boy who was available. The boy was Ranma, but he gave a false name. That story ended with the two of them committing suicide.

I'd like to imagine something similar, but with a happier ending. I'll need to think more about this as to how to make it work.

Ranma/Nodoka idea #7

On the website ranmabooks.com one of the artist who is a regular contributor goes by the alias Dark One. There's a lot of general pictures of Ranma but there are also some that seem to be part of an actual story. I had wondered if there was an actual written story that went with it.

The concept gets going with a series of pictures of Nodoka having sex with large numbers of men and some animals. Then included with those there are letters she sent to Ranma and Genma while they were away on the training trip. The concept put forward was that Nodoka needed a way to support herself while the "boys" were gone and did so by being a prostitute.

At some time after Ranma and Genma get back from the trip (obviously after Ranma met Nodoka) they start having an affair and Ranma-chan becomes Nodoka's lesbian lover. There was one picture of male Ranma naked with his mother, so it wasn't all girl-on-girl action with them. Because of the influence of her mother, Ranma got locked as a girl went to work in the same business. One of the more recent pictures posted showed both Ranma and Nodoka pregnant and the captioning below made it clear that each carried the other's child.

My thought was that I could contact the artist and ask if there was a readable story in existence or if he was just working from some kind of outline. If he had just an outline I would suggest that he write the story as a fan fiction or possibly let me see the outline and I could try to turn it into a story.

Ranma/Nodoka idea #8

An idea for a variation on idea #7. This is in case Dark One writes the story himself or is unwilling to let me create a fic based on his pictures. I could write a fic that I would say was "inspired" by those pictures.

I would envision Ranma going to visit his mom sometime in the canon time frame after meeting her or possibly even after the failed wedding. This idea would have him finding the front door unlocked and him walking in to find his mom having hot sex with some unidentified man.

Ranma would leave the house but stay where he could see the door. Maybe he could sit on the roof. After he sees the strange man leave, he would go knock on the door and Nodoka would let him in.

While they are drinking tea, Ranma would tell Nodoka that he had seen her with the man and ask what was going on. She would confess what she had been working as a prostitute during the time of the training trip. She didn't do it any more, but still would get together with some of her old customers for old times sake. The reason she wasn't still a "professional girl" was because she had made a lot of money and had invested it wisely, so didn't need to work for money any longer.

I could see one or more chapters of flashbacks to some of the sexual encounters Nodoka had during her career. At the end of the flashbacks, Nodoka sees that Ranma has become aroused by the stories and decides that she will relieve his sexual tension. That would lead to a nice lemon scene of them together. Then another chapter would be them together both as women. I could even envision Nodoka using instant Naniichuan powder to become a man and do Ranma-chan.

That would lead to both "girls" getting pregnant by the other. I wouldn't put a marriage in there, at least as a formal arrangement. There could still be some kind emotional commitment of each to the other.

Ranma/Nodoka idea #9

This isn't so much an idea for me to write but an appeal to readers. In one of the author's notes to a story of mine posted on Media Miner I asked readers to point me to some good Ranma/Nodoka lemon fics. I got one response that gave me a link to a story where Nodoka made a living as a writer of porn during the training trip.

As I recall it, movies were made from some of Nodoka's stories. Ranma went along with his mom to a filming (taping?) of one of those and the two of them got so aroused that they ended up having sex with each other.

Sometime after I got that link in an email my computer got infected with a virus and the hard drive had to be re-formatted, erasing everything that I had. I had a lot of stuff backed up, but the email with the link to the story I described was not one of those things. If anyone who sees this has read the fic, could you email me with a new link? I would extend that to request links to any lemon stories that put Ranma and Nodoka together.

Ranma/Genma idea(s)

From the reviews I got on my story "Nodoka's Lessons" I know that Genma is not a very popular choice of sex partner for girl Ranma. One reviewer even said, "You've lost me. I will stop reading this."

On the other hand it should be noted that in many fan fics Genma is portrayed as an amoral S.O.B. If he thought that Ranma's curse would forever deny him access to Nodoka's bed, then I could see him turning to Ranma for his sexual needs, since Onna-Ranma looks like a young Nodoka.

I wrote a couple of chapters on a concept that I haven't given a title to yet. The concept is that, right after Jusenkyo, instead of going with the Guide to the Amazon village for supplies, Genma decides that they will forage for what they can find. Some of the berries they eat have aphrodisiac properties and it makes both Ranma and Genma extremely horny.

Genma decides to take advantage of the sexy girl who is available and Ranma is naive enough about sex that he is willing to go along with whatever his/her father suggests. The next day after the effects of the berries wear off, I write Genma as being horrified and repentant for how he has "ruined" his son. On the other hand Ranma has decided that she likes sex as a girl and because of that, likes being a girl. She especially likes it with Genma and seeks to have more sex with him as often as possible.

The upshot of that is that when Ranma and Genma get to the Tendo Dojo, Genma is almost desperate not only for Ranma to get engaged to one of the girls, but for him to have sex with one or more of them (maybe all of them.) He is hoping that by having sex in his male form he will be broken loose from this obsession of having sex as a girl in general and doing it with Genma in particular.

Now that was as far as I had written it. I wasn't sure how to proceed with it from there. I was just thinking that Nodoka could find out and divorce Genma and (after changing her name) Ranma could try to marry Genma. Or I could also see Ranma turning into a total slut and having sex with Ryoga, Kuno, Hiroshi and Daisuke and maybe even Gosunkugi. I'd be willing to take suggestions for ways to take the concept.

I've read fics by other authors where Ranma has sex with Genma after arriving at the Tendo dojo. One of them is called "Father's Day II." In that one Ranma was getting horny, but felt that having sex with any of the fiancées was too dangerous. The only "safe" person he could see doing it with was Genma and so she becomes her father's lover. I think that is the only fic I've read where Ranma chose such a relationship without any use of magic, potions, trickery, etc.

I'm open to suggestions for further ideas for at least semi plausible ideas of how girl Ranma could end up Genma's lover. Magic and potions are Ok as are trickery or simply taking advantage of Ranma's naiveté in matters regarding sex.

Alternate Ranma/Genma idea

Just had a new thought on the Ranma as lover for Genma. Maybe could have Ranma get some other curse that would leave him a human male or maybe he gets no curse at all while Genma gets a curse to turn into the familiar busty red haired teen girl. He could change into some different girl. On the trip back to Japan, Genma decides that he likes the youth of the girl form, the slender frame and the fact that it has hair. He/she tries masturbating as a girl and likes how it makes her feel. That leads to her seducing or trying to seduce Ranma. It might even work with both having the same curse.

Gender Reversal

This one starts out when Panda Genma carries a girl Ranma into the Tendo home. The difference is that Soun Tendo was the parent who died. Kimiko Tendo is the still living parent and the children she has been raising are boys.

Kenjiro is the eldest at 19 and a medical student. He is sort of a male version of Kasumi with Dr. Tofu overtones. The middle boy (Name to be decided later) is a money grubber, information broker, blackmailer, entrepreneur. Kaneda is the youngest and is the martial artist. Bold, brash and in some ways like canon Ranma.

When they find out about the agreement for one of the Tendo boys to marry Genma's child, the result is massive confusion, aided by the fact that their first impression of Ranma is as a girl.

At some point in that I picture an earnest conversation between Kimiko and Genma. She agrees that the joining of the schools is important, but the options available for fulfilling that pledge are very few. Kimiko can't marry Genma because his wife is still alive. Ranma could marry Kimiko and she admits that she doesn't mind the thought of a strong young man in her bed.

The last option she could see would be for Genma's "daughter" to marry one of the Tendo sons. While she can understand why Ranma might be resistant to that idea, she could see how they might be able to push him into it by playing on his sense of honor.

At this point I'm not sure which of those options I really favor. I can see possibilities for Ranma marrying the older woman. But I can also see where it might be funny for Ranma to have to be a girl and get married to Kaneda.

I'm not sure how much of a difference this would introduce into this concept, but I could also imagine it if Soun is the surviving Tendo parent. I'd welcome any suggestions anyone might wish to offer on any kind of Girl Ranma getting matched up to a male Tendo offspring.

Tendo Incest idea.

On this one the idea is that back when Mrs. Tendo died, things started out as in canon. Then, at the age of 12, Kasumi decided that she couldn't deal with how her Mom's death had turned her father into a sniveling crybaby. She decided that what was needed was someone to take mom's place in father's bed.

Thus it was that Kasumi seduced her father and they began having regular sex, so that she was taking the role of not just a housewife, but a wife in fact. After four years, Nabiki gets in on the act and she and Kasumi are sharing the bedroom chores. At the time of Ranma's arrival Akane has been not been asked to take her turn in daddy's bed, but is aware that it will be coming. The whole "baby girl" thing will not hold forever.

One of the effects of this is that Akane still believes that boys are perverts, but she is starting to get desperate to get out of her participation in the family "tradition." If she were to get engaged to the son of her father's friend, then maybe she would be exempted from being called to father's bed. I figure she could look at is as a sort of "lesser of two evils" sort of thing.

Instead of condemning Ranma right from the first, she is a little more willing to put up with what she still sees as his perverted tendencies if it gets her out of having sex with her father. She will take on the engagement, saying that she wants to see if she actually likes him. Being engaged will get her out of having to take on bedroom chores with her father.

I sort of see it as Akane publicly proclaiming the engagement while privately telling Ranma that if he tries anything perverted with her, she will pulverize him. Through all of the canon crazy people she meets she will come to appreciate that Ranma is really a nice boy and not the pervert she first believed him to be and will come to want to be married to him.

This could be done as lemon with sex scenes of the older girls getting it on with Soun. On the other hand it could be done straight where the sex takes place off stage and is only referred to, but not described.

On the lemon version of the story I could picture a scene where the two older sisters lead Akane to Soun's bed as a way to "celebrate" Akane's engagement to Ranma. Of course you could just look at it as Soun's attempt to have sex with his youngest daughter before she officially became another man's wife.

Ranma/Cologne

I don't know if I've read any examples of this one before. This is in keeping with Nyaniichuan being Spring of Drowned Young Girl. I have written a story of Happosai using water from that spring to rejuvenate himself. I know I have read fics where Cologne used the water to change from a dried up old crone into a hot looking teenaged girl. I could also imagine the age changing mushrooms being used to accomplish the same thing. The advantage to the mushrooms would be no changing back to the old crone with hot water.

The idea here is that Cologne would get rejuvenated in this fashion and decide that she was better suited to being Ranma's wife than Shampoo. There could be some silliness as she pursues her intended "Airen" but it would eventually settle down where she actually does marry him and they settle down in Tokyo. She resigns from being an elder and they run the restaurant and raise babies.

I remember reading part of another fic where they used the magic age changing mushrooms to make Cologne a young girl. There is a certain appeal to that because there wouldn't be any changing back to an old crone with hot water. Of course Cologne would likely have the ability to lock a Jusenkyo curse, so that wouldn't necessarily be a problem.

Ranma/Tenchi

I'm not sure why, but I like stories where Ranma is stuck as a girl. I don't know if I could improve on "Tenchi and Ranma - Together Forever" but I'd like to think about possibly coming up with my own. Beyond the bare idea of them getting together, I'm not sure how I would want to approach this one.

I've read some cute stories where Ranma falls into a spring of drowned cabbit or gets changed into one by some other means. I can't say I have any ideas on how to do this myself, but would welcome suggestions.

I've read a story where Ranma ends up getting married to Ryoko. I've also read one where Ryoko was his mother. I may have read one or more where he fell into the Spring of Drowned Demon Woman and got her as a cursed form. Does anyone have a suggestion for something new or different Ranma/Ryoko match up or fusion?

Ranma/Naruto

I will need to see more of the Naruto anime before I could have a good concept on this. I would like to see Ranma going to the Naruto world and getting ninja training. I could see him either with the curse active or locked and maybe hooking up with one of the ninja boys. I could have him stay in ninja land for the rest of his life or possibly have him come back to Nerima.

I don't remember seeing this done before, but I wonder if Naruto could come to the Ranma-verse. I could see Ranma befriending the boy who was displaced from his own world. Maybe they could just be friends, buddies or maybe something could develop between Naruto and girl Ranma. Two possible diverging paths here would have Ranma going back to Konoha with Naruto when the portal re-opens or Naruto staying in Tokyo with Ranma.

Ranma/DBZ

I don't remember the title, but I read a fic where Ranma went to the DBZ world. He was stuck as a girl and ended up married to Goku, instead of Chi-Chi. She then became the mother of Gohan and Goten. I could see some potential for something myself, but then I could see some other alternatives. What if girl Ranma ended up as the wife of Vegeta instead of Bulma? She could end up being the mother of Trunks and Bra.

I've already written several chapters of a story where Ranma and Akane are both Saiyans who were sent to our Earth in a space ship. I sort of ripped off the Superman origin story for that. Naturally both Ranma and Akane are adopted for this. In that fic there are no appearances of the DBZ cast but characters in the story have read and make references to both the anime and manga.

While I can find it fun to read stories of the DBZ world and Ranmaverse fused there are some problems inherent to such fusions. In the DBZ universe there is technology that doesn't exist in the Ranmaverse. There are races of people in the DBZ world (Dog people, bear people, talking pterodactyls and others) that don't exist in the Ranma world. Basically the world of Ranma is our Earth, but with some magic and other craziness added. The DBZ world is called "earth" but would have to be the Earth of another dimension or a different time (say distant past or future.)

Fics where DBZ characters live in the same world as Ranma usually either have some kind of elaborate explanation of how the worlds are combined or simply sidestep the issue. They just say something like "Vegeta flew to Tokyo" and don't bother to mention that in the DBZ universe, there is no Tokyo.

I think more plausible stories involve characters from one story universe crossing over into the other. The mechanism of the crossing isn't important. It could be some high tech device that Bulma is building or the result of Happosai summoning a demon or doing something else to "punish" Ranma.

One idea that I've seen that I might try my hand with is Ranma going to the DBZ world and getting training with the Z fighters. Then when he goes back to his own world, he's so strong that he's out of everyone's league. I've read stories like that.

A variation on that would be for Ranma to go to the DBZ world and not just training, but falling in love with and marrying one of the DBZ cast. I could imagine Ranma hooking up with Pan from DB GT. Another possible match up would be Ranma with Bra.

Oh, that brought up a scene in my mind. Ranma was banished from his own world due to some spell or other cast by Happosai. I could have it that this wasn't the result that the old freak had wanted, but he had misread the scroll. Then sometime later, Ranma reappears. It could be a day later or months or even years, but in the time he has been gone it has been several years for Ranma. When he returns he brings with him his wife (I'm sort of favoring Bra for this role) and two or three children. Maybe while in the DB universe, Ranma has been turned into a Saiyan by a wish with the Eternal Dragon. I could even see Bra using a Wish to get the ability to change sexes. That way Ranma could be the mother of at least one of their children.

What would follow after that would be the obligatory chapter of resolving engagements with all of the fiancee brigade and then we could have flashbacks of how things went for Ranma in the DB world. He could even become a major player in these events because he has read all of the manga or seen all of the anime (or both.) There could also be chapters where Ranma faces down Happosai, Taro, Ryoga, Herb and the rest and totally outclasses them as a Saiyan.

I could even see that one having Ranma sent away before the fight with Saffron so that when the fight does come, the Phoenix King is taken down easily. The whole snob factor that Saffron and the Phoenix have for "Landlings" would sort of fall in the toilet when they were confronted by foes who can fly without wings.

Ranma as an X-man

In my story "Ranma's Full Potential" I have him with a mutation that allows him to develop more strength by getting denser musculature instead of bigger. That lets him get super human strength and more-than-human toughness. In the story mentioned that was just a small part of his overall powers. I could see where Ranma could come to be recruited by the X-men based on just this power along with his gender changing. Among the X-men the sex changing is looked on as another power rather than a curse. Maybe I can work the willpower trigger into that one as well.

It might be fun to see what other sort of mutant powers people could suggest. I've read at least one fic where Ranma was Wolverine's son with the same, or at least similar powers. I've also seen at least one story where Ranma had some really small power with no use in a fight but got into the X-men because of his martial arts skills.

Ranma's Full Potential

I actually feel a little odd listing this here with the story ideas. I've written more than 400 pages of Times Roman 12 point font text. However the writing on that story is very spotty, and I think I might benefit from some feedback from readers. The story is a mega crossover that includes Ranma, Tenchi Muyo, X-Men, Ah! My Goddess, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Harry Potter and Kim Possible. The plot is open enough that other crossovers could get added.

The prologue starts with Ranma in the dojo, trying to work out a new technique but being interrupted by a bunch of people. Then I make use of a fanon cliche by having Belldandy show up to grant Ranma a wish. She gets to the dojo just as Ranma says he wishes for a real chance to reach his full potential without interference from the crazy people in his life.

The wish is granted but it turns out that Ranma has a lot more potential than even he realized. Genma used pressure points to suppress Ranma's intelligence and make him focus only on martial arts. In truth he is a super genius. He also has an inactive X-gene for the mutant powers of telepathy, telekinesis and levitation (Like Jean Gray.)

I also put in that his mother and grandparents on his Mom's side are squibs, but he is of a wizarding family. Because of the Wish he gets all of his intelligence back, his mutant powers are activated and he will gain the full power of magic.

Because of Genma's pressure point treatment it was judged that the years of the training trip were "stolen" from Ranma and he is reverted to a 5 year old kid but with full memories and martial arts skills. (Magic mushrooms won't return him to a teenager. He has to grow up again.) He still changes sexes. However Belldandy convinced him that he needs to stay a girl to counteract all of the macho BS that Genma taught him.

So Ranma is a 5 year old girl when she arrives in the US at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. She will learn how to use her powers while there. Occasionally she will stow away on the X-jet to visit other parts of the world. On one such trip she is in London and happens upon the TARDIS of Dr. Who.

Ranma's grandparents live out in the country near to the town of Okayama and they have the next house up the road from the Masaki Shrine. When going to visit the closest neighbors, Ranma meets Washu and gets the means to make her own subspace laboratory.

Ranma starts to manifest magic powers earlier than age 11 and starts to study with the help of a tutor. For practical application of Defense Against the Dark Arts, she goes to Sunnydale, CA and fights vampires and demons alongside Buffy Summers.

She will enroll in an American academy of witchcraft and wizardry. I have decided to place that school at the fictional town of Arkham, MA. That was a location created by HP Lovecraft and is also the home of the Miskatonic University. Later she will be sent to Hogwarts through a student exchange program in her 6th year. I was going to put that in Harry Potter's 5th year. By this time Ranma has already finished all of the work needed and has actually graduated from Miskatonic's magic studies so Dumbledore hires her as a teacher.

My problem with this story is that I have hit writer's block at times and so would jump to another part of the story to work on it. So I have Ranma starting at Xavier's school then jump forward to her meeting with the Doctor then jump to meeting Washu at Tenchi's. Then another adventure with the Doctor and getting a ton of equipment for her lab. Then she learns magic. As an Animagus she can change into a housecat, a Siberian tiger and a dragon. I decided to use a dragon from Ann McCaffrey's Pern.

I wrote of Ranma's arrival at the American magic school, but have to write about of the actual schooling. I wrote of the arrival at Hogwarts but haven't finished that.

Futanari

I already started one fic called "Futanari Ranma." I wrote more than 20 chapters but the reactions of the readers have not been the most favorable. It seems that the 3rd chapter is the one that is getting the most negative reaction. Well, I suppose I could just post the rest on my blog and see how it does there.

I actually posted the first two chapters of "Futanari Ranma" on Media Miner. (I'm really should think about a better title. "Curses Combined" is one that comes to mind. I'd welcome suggestions.) One of the reviews on that said that this was a different approach, but that the concept of "Ranma as a hermaphrodite" wasn't new. Can anyone out there email me with links to any fics where Ranma became a hermaphrodite? I don't remember reading any that I haven't written myself.

[Note added later: Since writing the previous paragraph I have read a lemon fic where Ranma became a futanari as her "normal" form and a regular girl as a cursed form. I'd still like to see other fics that include Ranma being a hermaphrodite.]

A thought just occurred to me. It is a story that would start at the same point as Futanari Ranma, but would diverge there. I was thinking that maybe I could do a crossover with Boku No Futatsu No Tsubasa (My Two Wings.) In that story the main character is a futanari named Makoto Kashiwagi.

The idea is for Ranma to get splashed with the man water at the wedding, giving him a mixed man/woman curse. That would make his cursed form a Futanari. The difference here would start with Akane finding out, but she doesn't have the futanari fetish. She tells everyone in the family and Ranma is kicked out and disowned. He goes to the community where Mako-chan is located and meets her.

He feels himself attracted to the beautiful girl. When they get intimate Ranma learns of Makoto's little "extra." The futa feels that Ranma will reject her and that is when Ranma shows her his cursed side. They end up getting married. (Obviously a lot more work needed on that one.)

Futanari Idea #2

In "Futanari Ranma" I have Cologne mention that there are two futanari warriors in her tribe. I could think one variation on the concept would be that Ranma would become a futa at the wedding and then get thrown out. He would go to the Nekohanten and Cologne would offer him membership in the tribe. He might hook up with Shampoo.

Futanari Idea #3

Another variation on this concept starts from the same beginning, with Ranma kicked out. In this one he would end up in the village of Futar. Since I haven't posted that much of "Futanari Ranma" I should mention that Futar is another village in the same mountains as the Amazons, Musk and Phoenix. In their village they have their own cursed spring (only one) that turns people into hermaphrodites.

Futanari Idea #4

Similar idea. Same beginning. In this one Ranma is kicked out but Nabiki, who has the fetish feels guilty for the part she played in the insanity of the wedding. She does a web search and finds the futanari medical businesses in the building with the medical clinic and lawyer office. One possibility I think of would have Nabiki getting a futa curse and moving away with Ranma. Maybe she could take a job at the futa law firm. Not sure of that one.

Futanari Idea #5

I was just thinking that all of the ideas I've listed start from the wedding and Ranma getting a mixed curse after being splashed with the Naniichuan that Soun hid. However, I just got done reading a fic where Makoto Kashiwagi had nearly drowned in a spring and then Ranma came along and got dunked in her spring, making his cursed form a futanari. There was only a first chapter for that with nothing further.

I could do my own variation on that. I was thinking that they go to Jusenkyo and Genma does get turned into a panda, but Ranma doesn't get the girl curse. Maybe instead of falling into the spring he lands on the dirt next to it. Instead of them going to Joketsuzoku village, they go instead to the village of Futar (see explanation in Futanari Idea #3.) There, during a fight, Ranma gets thrown into the futa spring.

That would change the whole dynamic if he had a futanari curse from the beginning. Would Genma still even want to try "joining the schools" when Ranma is a sexual freak.

Futanari Idea #6

This idea is not a lemon. What sex there is in the story happens offstage. It is referred to but not described.

"Futanari World" is the name of this concept. The idea was sparked by a comment I had Cologne make in "Futanari Ranma." That was a speculation to the effect that if the people of the Village of Futar could find a way to transform everyone in the world to futanari, they would do so.

The story starts out with Ranma lying on the roof of the Tendo home, thinking about his life and what he is going to do about the fiancee mess. When he stands up to look around, he sees a strange distortion in the air that looks like heat waves above a range top. This distortion is in a wall that stretches from horizon to horizon and moves very fast. When this "Transformation Wave" passes over, Ranma and everyone in the world has been changed into a Futanari.

The rest of the story is about people deal with the change. In the first version I wrote, I kept this strictly in the Ranma universe. I pictured futa-Ranma getting into a match up with futa-Mousse and Akane getting together with her friend Sayuri. I had Hiroshi and Daisuke becoming lovers.

I also had an idea for a multi-crossover version of the same story. In the first chapter I have the same stuff happening to the Ranma crew, but I also added the crazies from Tenchi Muyo and Sailor Moon. I also included a cameo of the Shimeru family from Futaba Kun Change. I was sort of working on an idea of how to work Harry Potter in there, just so long as they don't figure out a way to magically reverse the transformation.

In the crossover version I have Ranma matched up to Kino Makoto (Sailor Jupiter) with Kasumi becoming the lover of Sailor Pluto. I was planning for Akane to become the lover of Ryoko from Tenchi and Nabiki getting matched up to Princess Ayeka. I thought Washu would be a good match for Sailor Mercury. I'd welcome suggestions for other match ups.

To turn either version into a finished story, I would appreciate people giving suggestions on how world governments would react to having all of their citizens transformed in the manner described. I would also hope people could suggest ways in which others would react. For example how the leadership of major religions would respond as well as extremist groups.

I don't plan to actually have my characters participate in the events in other parts of the world, but I could bring those things in when the characters watch the news on TV.

Early Curse

I read a fic called "Growing Up the Half Way." In that one instead of making Ukyo get registered as a boy and such, her dad calls the cops on Genma. Forced to flee the country, they go to China when Ranma is 6 years old and he picks up the curse at that age. Basically he grows up changing sexes.

I don't know if I can improve on that story, but I'd like to see some more fics working on the idea. Obviously, if Ranma was changing sexes ever since he was six, it would be normal to him. He probably wouldn't even realize at the start that others can't change like he can.

"Playing with Water" chapter idea

In the lemon fic "Playing with Water" Nabiki managed to get some Naniichuan water with thoughts of how much money she could make off it. Naturally an accident occurred and she got a man curse. She managed to salvage a small amount of the water, which she put aside. Then she got some Nyaniichuan to try and cure herself. The girl water and the remnant of the man water splash on Kasumi, resulting in a Kasumi whose cursed form is still mostly her, but with a really enormous male organ.

The two sisters have sex with each other and after Akane catches them, she is brought in on the "fun and games." Eventually Ranma gets in on the action but in the finished chapters only in male form.

The way the author wrote the fic, Kasumi mainly acts like the same quiet, shy girl you see in canon. But when in sexual situations with Ranma or her sisters, she becomes aggressively horny and demanding.

I am hoping to contact the author of that story to suggest that there is another chapter that practically begs to be written. If the original author doesn't want to write it, then I would try my own hand at it. That chapter would be where Kasumi decides that she just has to use her male organ to have sex with Ranma's girl form. The sisters devise a plan. When girl Ranma is confronted with a Kasumi who wants to put a huge male organ into her, she at first says no. Akane then says, "I've taken that all the way inside me. Are you saying that the great Ranma Saotome can't do something that I can? Are you afraid?"

The whole thing would end up with Ranma taking Kasumi from the front and Nabiki's male form from the rear while Akane watches. Or maybe Akane could participate in some way.

Futaba Kun Change (non Ranma)

For those unfamiliar with this manga series, it is about the life of another type of sex-changer by the name of Futaba Shimeru. The major difference here is that for members of the Shimeru family, changing sexes is a normal part of their lives and seen as a part of growing up, similar to puberty.

For the Shimeru's the trigger for the change in sexes is emotion or excitement. At some point in their teenage years those who were born one sex will spontaneously change to the opposite sex when excited or aroused. There are some sites that have the manga available to read. You can find one of them by doing a Google search on the title.

Futaba has a sister who changes into his brother at times. Futana is a player who likes to go after girls. Since the members of the Shimeru family always try to marry members of their own family to prevent news of their oddity from becoming public knowledge, the idea of incest is not foreign to them. Early in the manga, right after Futaba changed into a girl for the first time she woke up in girl form. She had been using her hands to explore the different body, but after a moment realized that there were more hands groping her than just her own. Futana was in bed with her groping her girl form.

Futana then turned male and proclaimed that Futaba is just his type. The next frame of the manga showed Futaba leaving the house in male form. He's in a hurry and you can see Futana in girl form with a huge lump on her head where Futaba hit her/him.

My idea for a story would be a divergence from that point. I ask myself what might happen if Futaba decides she likes the attentions her sister/brother is giving her and decides to let it go farther. The question is if Futana is just teasing or if she would really want to take it further. I could see a torrid love affair developing out of this.

I had another idea. In the manga Misaki, Futaba's girlfriend needed a blood transfusion. Futaba gives blood and Misaki turns into a sex changer. It was later explained that she was a distant relative of the Shimeru clan and the blood transfusion activated her gender changing. After a while she went back to normal.

My thought was this: What if Misaki didn't go back to being all female all the time? What if she kept changing? Instead of going through some of the crap Futaba did later, they would know right away they were meant for each other and they develop a stronger relationship because of it.

I haven't read too many fanfics based on this manga. Of those I have read, they are often crossovers with Ranma 1/2. Since both are about sex changing central characters, I suppose that is understandable. I'd welcome suggestions for basic story starter ideas for fics based on this manga.



Ranma as a cat girl

Most fics that I've read where this happens to Ranma tend to be Gold Digger crossovers. I happen to like such crossovers, but tight finances prevent me from obtaining the original comics to read enough to create my own crossovers with that series. However, I could see a fic where Ranma accidentally falls into a cat spring or a tiger spring after first falling into the girl spring. The actual order doesn't make that big a difference.

How would the fiancees react to Ranma as a cat girl. I would see her cat girl form as being petite as the normal girl form. However if he gets a tiger girl form, it would be a big girl. I'd like to have it that this combined curse cures the Nekoken.

Ranma as a Dragon Girl

This is a similar idea to Ranma as a cat girl. The difference would be that Ranma would mix Drowned Dragon with curse of Drowned Girl. In this one I would imagine heavy involvement with Herb and the Musk. The prince/ss would want to get Dragon girl Ranma to be his bride, and naturally Ranma wouldn't be terribly fond of that idea. Since Herb is sort of the keeper of the Chiisuiton, it would seem a natural thing for Ranma to get locked as part of the story. He might get the Open Water kettle in the course of the story or might not.

Other Girl/Creature hybrids

I guess I'll need to look up a list of "official" springs. I don't know that there have been official curses worked out for all of the springs or even if there is an actual official number (other than "over a hundred.") People are always inventing springs to get Ranma or other members of the cast to change into all sorts of interesting things.

There are already a number of "Ranma falls into spring of drowned Saiyan or girl Saiyan." I'm not sure I want to try and revisit any of those concepts myself. If any of my readers can suggest a fresh slant or twist on the idea, I'd like to hear it.

Genma with Girl Curse

I list this as separate from the Ranma/Genma idea. I seem to remember a fic that had something like this, but I don't remember the title. The idea would be something like Genma gets the curse to turn into the busty red haired teen girl. I could either have Ranma with no curse or it could be amusing for them to both have the same curse and look like twins.

One take I have on this was that Genma had renounced all of his former beliefs on girls as to them being weak, silly, etc. I could imagine that he decides he likes the form and turns into a total slut, seducing every man she can get her hands on. The first night at the Tendo home she goes to bed with Soun. If I have Genma and Ranma looking alike there could be some amusing scenes where a guy who'd had sex with Genma's girl form tries to get intimate with Ranma and gets clobbered instead.

Ranma gets raped

I don't object to reading such stories, I've seen some that were well written and thought provoking. The portrayal of how someone who sees himself as male would handle it can be really good fiction. On the other hand, I'm not sure if I'm a good enough writer to create such a story myself. I'm still going to list it here on the chance that someone might want to suggest an idea that I would see within my abilities to develop.

As for candidates on who the rapist would be, well there's a few possibilities. I've read some where Ryoga is the rapist. Considering how shy Ryoga is in the presence of a naked woman I have a hard time picturing myself writing such an encounter. I could see Kuno as a rapist. As unstable as he is I could even imagine that he might already have raped some other girls and his father had the cases swept under the rug.

I could imagine Happosai but with some difficulty. It could be some faceless man on the street. I would leave that option open for the present.

Ranma as a Sailor Senshi

I've already written two stories where Ranma became Sailor Terra. Those were Sailor Goddess, posted on Media Miner.org and "Paternity of a Princess" posted on the same site. (By the way, I was thinking that the title may be something of a spoiler and was hoping that someone could suggest an alternate title that would work better. The first fic I ever wrote was "A Big Help" and that had Ranma being a really powerful Senshi. In that story I named her Sailor Galaxy (Not Galaxia).

I'm not sure if I want to return to cover more of the same kind of ground. I could have Ranma become Sailor Sun or the Senshi of some other celestial body. I've read some excellent fics where Ranma became one of the canon senshi. I've also read some that weren't so good.

I'd like to see a really good fic where Ranma is Sailor Moon. That might require him to get the curse sooner to match up to the ages of other girls. On the other hand I rather like the idea of slightly more mature girls going into the roles of the Senshi instead. The idea of a martial arts trained Moon is appealing to me. I've been watching the anime recently and for a large part of the series, Moon is pathetic when she's not using her powers. She screams and dodges and generally looks like a klutz. She's often having to be saved by Tuxedo Mask.

I can summon up a mental image of Ranma as a red haired Sailor Moon who can seriously kick ass. She wouldn't need to be rescued and would have a low opinion of Tux. One of the things that a Ranma version of Sailor Moon would do would be to start training the other Senshi in martial arts moves as soon as she meets them.

Nice Genma idea

I just had this idea that I might use as a creative challenge for myself. What if Genma was nice? I've read some stories based on the idea of how would Ranma have turned out if he had a different father. Well this isn't that sort of concept. My thought was that Genma would be his normal self say up to the time of Jusenkyo and then change to become a kind and caring person.

In my stories "Nodoka's Lessons" and the sequel "Sailor Goddess" I did something of the sort. However, for that I had Genma changed into a woman, and then made pregnant by Soun Tendo. It was revealed that Happosai was a demon who created Anything Goes for the purpose of furthering perversion. So basically he had his school of martial arts stripped from him. But she found that Soun had fallen in love with her and she fell in love with him. She changed to the point that she wanted to be locked as a woman because she feared that changing into a man would make her turn back into that horrible person she had been in the past.

I figure there would be basically two ways for Genma to change from the canon selfish SOB into a nice person. One might be to get a different curse. I could just have him fall into the Spring of Drowned Virtuous Man, but that seems too easy. Having him change into a woman is a somewhat promising thought, but others have done that. I could try and put my own twist on that idea.

I'd welcome suggestions on what sort of other curses might make Genma turn nice. I would shudder to think of Genma with Taro's curse or to turn into some powerful creature like a dragon. I would think of Genma with such a curse as an example of what some characters in a movie would call "Power falling into the wrong hands." Maybe turning into a rat would make him more humble.

The other way I see Genma changing his ways would be through some kind of personal trauma. The one that occurs to me would be if he had some kind of scheme that blew up in his face. It could be a scheme to get Ranma hitched to Akane or something else, but I envision that it goes totally FUBAR and results in someone getting killed, like an innocent child. Riddled with guilt, Genma resolves to turn over a new leaf and start acting like a responsible adult.

I'd welcome suggestions for other sorts of personal trauma that might make Genma decide to become a better person. Another possibility that occurs to me would be if he somehow became responsible for Nodoka getting killed. Then he might try to be a good person to honor her memory.

It might also be interesting for Genma to get cursed to turn into a powerful creature and when trying out his power he accidentally kills someone. Something like that might be enough to make him swear to use his power for good instead of evil. That sort of combines both ideas.

Nyaniichuan Rejuvenation

I already mentioned the story I started where Happosai used water from the Spring of Drowned Young Girl to become a young girl and cheat death. That was just one of the ideas that used the same concept of an old man using the spring to become a young woman.

One alternate version I thought of was Indiana Jones as the old man. As an adventurer and world traveler, he would have heard of the springs and might be willing to give up his masculinity to stay alive. I could only see that happening if his wife Marion was dead and he was estranged from his son, Mutt (Henry Jones III.)

The third version I thought of was to create an original character who was a Knight Templar. When he is in his mid 20's he helps an alien who gives him a charge of a special energy that allows him to stay at the same age for centuries. Sometime in the mid 20th century that charge wears off and he begins aging again. During his long life he had to move from whatever place he settled when he started to look too old for the time he had lived in one place.

After the knight aged enough, he decided that he still had things he wanted to do and to extend his life, he sought out Ranma to help him get to Jusenkyo and the Spring of Drowned Young Girl.

Chapter 3
Making Plans

The next morning was notable for a couple of reasons. For the first time in a long time Genma didn't throw Ranma from the window. To wake the boy he did drag him out of bed and down the stairs, but that was to overcome Ranma's natural reluctance to get up in the morning. The sparring was conducted with a less strident level of insults and taunts than usual. Both combatants did end up in the pond as commonly happened.

Before breakfast started Ranma spoke to Nabiki. After a brief conversation he handed her some money and she handed him a book. They exchanged some more talk then went to eat.

Breakfast passed in relative quiet. Ranma changed back to male form just before leaving. When he left with Akane, Ranma didn't run on the fence as usual. He was deep in thought.

Akane spoke up and said, "So you're going to talk to the Amazon's after school?"

"Yep," Ranma answered. "Before I do that I need to talk to one of the teachers."

"One of the teachers?" Akane frowned on hearing that. It seemed out of character for her fiancé. "What about?"

"I need to find a teacher who understands stuff that could help me," was the reply. "It would be better to talk to a lawyer but I don't have the kind of money one of them would charge."

Ranma wasn't going to just go charging in to confront a possible foe with no preparation? That was definitely an indication of how seriously he was taking this matter.

Akane nodded and said, "I've got some stuff to do after school too."

"Ok," Ranma replied. He knew Akane had friends she hung out with at times. "I'll see you when I get home."

There was a pause then Ranma said, "Because she's been a friend in the past, I at least owe it to Ucchan to listen if she has an explanation for her behavior yesterday."

Nodding, Akane could understand. The okonomiyaki chef had actually been a rather likeable person aside from the rivalry over Ranma. While some of the things she had said and done in the past in regard to that rivalry had been a bit over-the-top, the throwing of bombs at the wedding had been much more extreme than usual. The only time before that Ukyo had behaved so extreme was when she first came to Nerima and tried to gain vengeance on the Saotomes.

When the pair arrived at the gates of Furinkan both were relieved when Kuno was absent from his usual spot by one of the trees in the schoolyard. They assumed that something in the previous day's events had either prevented the delusional kendoist from attending that day or at least delayed his arrival. Neither Ranma or Akane felt in a mood to deal with Kuno's particular brand of craziness that day.

Ranma quickly parted from Akane to look up Ms. Hinako. He felt a closer bond to the quirky English teacher than he did with any of his other teachers. He knocked on the classroom door and asked, "Ms. Hinako, do you have a minute?"

The diminutive instructor looked surprised. "Ranma? You're here before the start of school?"

Chapter 2
Dealing With the Change

Akane let go of Ranma's nipple and looked at the window of her room to see how late it was getting. The wedding had been scheduled for the early afternoon and it was now getting close to sunset. She said, "It's getting late. You'd better go get changed. Even if I'd love to have you stay here with me tonight, I don't think we should go public with the change in our relationship yet. For now just tell everybody that we were talking."

Ranma nodded but didn't get up. She gestured to the new addition to the anatomy of her girl form and asked, "Even if nobody else says anything, Pop's going to ask what the water did to me. What do I say about this?"

The black haired girl frowned. "What were you planning to say?"

"Planning?" Ranma shook her head. "You couldn't really say I was planning anything. I was just going to say I don't want to talk about it until I could think of something."

After a pause, she said, "When I hid in the bathroom, my thinking was more along the line of going on a training trip and never coming back. Either that or maybe committing seppuku. I was expecting people would be disgusted and not want me around. I never thought anyone would actually like what the cursed water did to me. My thought was something like finding a cave and becoming a hermit or something. You know, 'hide so nobody would have to see what kind of freak I'd turned into'. It was either run away or commit seppuku."

Hearing the pain in her lover's voice, Akane's expression turned sad. She patted Ranma's hand and said, "I'll stand by you even if nobody else does. I think for now it might be best if you stick with the plan of not talking about it. We need time to think about this and try to come up with a real plan. I have some ideas, but it might take some work to turn them into actual plans."

Ranma got up from the bed and retrieved her robe from the floor. She paused at the door of the room and said, "Ok, I'll wait. Please think really hard about it. If we can't come up with something, I may just have to leave on that training trip anyway."

Akane sighed and said, "If it comes to that I'll run away with you. We can change our names and pose as a married couple. Just please don't think any more about killing yourself."

Ranma unlocked the door and peeked out into the hall. Apparently, the rest of the family had gotten tired of standing around outside the door of Akane's bedroom. The area was currently deserted. She nodded and headed toward the stairs to change back to fully male in the bathroom.

As she got to the bottom of the stairs she could see things had gained a semblance of normalcy. Kasumi and Nodoka were off in the kitchen doing something together, while Genma and Soun were playing Shogi. Nabiki was watching TV.

When Ranma headed to the bathroom, the others noticed and Genma demanded, "What were you and Akane doing, boy?"

The redhead paused with frown on her face. That habit Genma's had of calling her "boy" regardless of what her gender of the moment was really irritating. She had tried to get him to call her by name more often, but that seemed hopeless. She said, "We were talking. Even you can't deny that we have a lot to talk about after what happened today."

Not liking Ranma's tone, the bald martial artist decided to let that pass. He really wanted to know what actually happened at the wedding. With a scowl on his face, Genma demanded, "Did that water actually do anything to you? Did the Guide send plain spring water without any magic?"

Ranma directed an angry glare at her father. Even with the current state of her emotions the younger martial artist was able to make an evasive answer. "It isn't just about the stupid water! It's about you organizing a wedding without telling me. It's about my best friend betraying me by throwing bombs during the wedding. It's about Shampoo trying to kill Akane. It's about Kodachi showing up in a wedding gown. It's about Kuno drawing live steel at a wedding."

She had moved closer to the men at the game table. "You were so confident that Akane and I would go along with it that you had to knock me out and dress me in my tux while I was unconscious. With the two of you jumping on even the slightest displays of affection as an excuse for a wedding, it's a miracle that Akane and me can still find any feelings for each other at all. If you want us to hate each other, you should just keep doing the same crap you've been doing."

Genma stood up, not noticing Soun re-arranging the game board while his attention was distracted. "Now see here boy..."

The redhead cut him off, "NO! I've had it with you two. If you want there to be any kind of chance for Akane and I to get together and stay together the two of you have to stop pushing. The way I feel about it right now, if Akane and I did get married tomorrow, we'd move to another city just to be away from you. At this point I don't care what happens to the dojo or the schools, I'd want no part in either."

Seeing her father about to begin his usual rant about honor and the joining of the schools, Ranma overrode him by talking louder, "Akane and I'd cut you out of our lives completely. We'd never call, never write, never visit, never even tell you where we'd gone. We'd never let you see your grandchildren if we have any. The next time you think about pushing us into another wedding before we tell you we're ready, think about that."

Soun and Genma both looked shocked. "You wouldn't," Soun asked. "The schools must be joined," Genma said.

"Try me," was Ranma's grim-voiced response. "Better yet, try us." She turned and resumed her walk to the bathing facilities.

As they watched Ranma's back retreating down the hall, Nodoka said from the door to the kitchen, "Dearest, Soun, perhaps it might be a good idea to hold off on any further efforts to get Ranma and Akane married for the present. I would hate to be denied access to my grandchildren when they are born. He sounds serious."

Soun nodded, for once actually thinking about the situation rather than simply erupting into tears. "Perhaps he just needs time to calm down from the events of today. The wedding and all the things that happened were stressful for all of us. It's only natural that Ranma and Akane feel angry. Give them some time. I'm sure they will come around and do what honor requires in time."

Genma may not have been the most intelligent man alive, but even he could see the wisdom in what his old friend was saying. He replied, "Perhaps you're right, Tendo. Pushing things now probably would be a mistake."

The elder Saotome man paused for a moment and asked, "Tendo, do you suppose the Jusenkyo guide was playing some kind of joke? Could that water he sent have been ordinary water after all? The boy looked just the same as always for his girl form."

With a frown, Soun answered, "There may have been nothing different that we could see, Saotome. The boy seems to think the water had some kind of effect. Otherwise, what was the reason for locking himself in the bathroom for two hours? Whatever it was, it's obvious that he doesn't want to talk about it right now. Perhaps that is something else we will have to wait for him to calm down for."

The long haired martial artists paused a moment, then said, "At least he was willing to talk to Akane. We should take that as a positive sign. Even though they didn't get married today, there is still hope for the future."

The bald martial artist nodded in acknowledgement of his friend's optimism but still frowned in thought. He couldn't get his mind off the water. "When we got some Instant Naniichuan it worked like a temporary cure. I can only think of two reasons for what happened today. Either that water isn't what the Guide told you it was in the letter or else the real, permanent, cursed water works differently from the instant."

Mr. Tendo shook his head. "Ranma will tell you when he's ready. Until then it's better not to worry about it. Have patience."

The Saotome patriarch shook his head and sighed. "It's easy for you to say 'have patience,' Tendo. You didn't just see your cure fail to work."

"At least let him sleep on it," advised the long haired martial artist. "The events of the day are still fresh in Ranma's mind. Tomorrow he may feel different."

Akane moved from the stairs where she had been listening and went back to her room. She was thinking about what Genma had said of the instant Naniichuan as opposed to the permanent water from the springs. It was true that she had seen Ranma and Genma get doused with the instant water and sit in the koi pond in celebration of their "cure." They had been so happy. Then it had started to rain and the two had changed into the usual cursed forms and both had started weeping.

The thought came to her that maybe the temporary curse was actually stronger than the permanent one. Maybe that was why it was able to replace the curse gained from the springs for a limited time. Was it possible that by being stronger that was also what caused the instant curse to be temporary? Did the stronger magic burn itself out or something? She didn't know enough about magic to really make a good guess.

She frowned as a thought occurred to her. If someone were under a temporary curse then doused with water from the locking ladle, would that lock the temporary curse and make it permanent as well? Getting Instant Jusenkyo curses was relatively simple, just buy the powder. It could be ordered by mail, phone or the internet. Even if getting the powder was easy, it might actually be easier to get the permanent curse water than to get the means to lock an instant curse.

The youngest of the Tendo daughters resolved to write a letter to the Jusenkyo Guide. Ranma was acting as if he assumed the guide knew what the water would do. It was a reasonable assumption, but might actually be unwarranted. If he didn't know then he might be made to feel bad or even guilty if he was told of Ranma's now mixed curse. If she worked it right, Akane might be able to play on that guilt to get him to ship her some of the two waters she wanted, and she knew she did want them.

With a mixture of Naniichuan and Nyaniichuan, Akane could become a futanari like Ranma. Unbidden a mental image came to her mind. The girl had at times shared the bath with her sisters and knew what each of them looked like when naked. In her mind she conjured up images of them and then imagined each of them with a hard cock added to their female anatomy.

That was fun to think about. It was just a fantasy after all. If she was just going to think about it, why not add in Ranma's mother. She was a beautiful woman who looked like an older, taller but less muscular version of Ranma's girl side. As a dick girl, she would probably look a lot like Ranma did now.

Who else could she add to the picture? She suddenly imagined her father nude. She had accidentally walked in on him in the bath a few times, so she knew what his lean musculature looked like. While it was fun to fantasize about such things, Akane didn't know if something like that would actually be possible. Doing something like that to Genma wouldn't be possible because of the panda curse. The most that could be accomplished on him would be to turn him into a sort of panda-girl furry. She frowned and wondered if that could be a panda dick-girl furry.

As much fun as it was to think about, there seemed little likelihood it would ever happen. It seemed even less likely that the others in her family would even want to change in such a fashion. She might be able to work on the Jusenkyo Guide's guilt enough to get him to send enough man and girl waters to turn herself into a dick girl, but it seemed highly unlikely that she would ever get enough to change anyone else.

But wait, there was a problem with that idea. The Guide had sent water to the Tendo Dojo before and it had not reached its intended recipient. Soun had been the one to sign for the delivery and he had hidden away the cask of water rather than give it to Ranma, presumably in some sort of scheme to force Ranma into agreeing to wedding if he was resistant. Hiding the water had merely delayed Ranma's curse mixing so that his cursed form was a futanari.

That caused another thought to occur to Akane. What would have happened if Happosai had drunk the water as he had tried. Since the old freak was a man, albeit an old one, the water shouldn't have had any effect on him. There was the additional question if the water would work the same on the inside as it did on the outside. She didn't know how she could find out.

Anyway, considering the way her father had intercepted the water that was meant for Ranma, it would be best to have any other water sent to her go to an alternate address. Since her friend Yuka had been the one to introduce Akane to futanari comics, maybe she would be willing to help her friend become a real dick girl. The only thing she would have to do would be to let Akane have any water shipments sent to Yuka's house instead of the Tendo dojo.

Akane sat down on her bed with her mind buzzing with possible plans. Certainly the idea of doing to herself and all those others what had happened to Ranma would be rather extreme. It was probably better to just plan on changing herself. Then if the rest of the family rejected them, they could still run away together.

Downstairs Kasumi stepped out of the kitchen and announced, "Since the food for the wedding reception was destroyed, I have made a late dinner. I'm sure everyone is hungry."

From the hall leading to the bathroom, male Ranma's voice called out, "Did I hear someone say 'dinner'?"

Kasumi chuckled and said, "Yes, Ranma. You heard right."

They all went to the table. While they were eating Genma tried a little probing. "What happened, boy?"

Still annoyed at not being called by name, the young man frowned and replied, "A whole lot happened today. If you don't want an answer that takes an hour, could you narrow that down?"

"What do you think?" the older Saotome said in an irritated tone. "What happened with the water?"

The frown turned into a glare and Ranma said, "I don't want to talk about it." He glanced over at Akane, who gave him a tiny nod. He continued, "I need to think about it some more, figure some things out. Tomorrow after school, I'm gonna go talk to the old ghoul. I've got some questions to ask her and a few complaints to make as well."

"Complaints?"

"Yeah," Ranma agreed. "Like about how she's letting Shampoo run wild and putting people's lives in danger." He didn't say out loud that he wanted to find out if the old woman had known about mixing curses. If she did know, he wanted to demand why that information had not been shared with the male curse victims.

Genma frowned and asked, "And what questions did you want to ask?"

The pigtailed boy shrugged and said, "Well, it's not going to come as a surprise that she knows more than she's told us. I have to find out if she had knowledge in certain specific areas."

He paused in thought for a moment, then asked, "Hey, Mom? You're the head of Saotome Clan, aren't you?"

"Yes, dear," the auburn haired mother responded. "I was elected by the rest of the clan when Genma's absence left the position vacant."

The boy nodded. He asked, "Do you know how to declare a blood feud?"

Everyone looked alarmed at hearing the question. The Saotome matriarch replied, "No, I don't know, but I can find out. Who would we be starting a feud with?"

"The Amazons," was Ranma's answer. "Or if not the whole tribe, then with Shampoo's family. They've pulled way too much crap for it to go unchallenged. I'm not saying that we should declare a blood feud now. I'm just wanting to have that as an option in case Cologne isn't willing to back off."

Her manner grim, the older woman said, "Declaring a blood feud is a very serious matter. Are you sure that is a step you want to take?"

Ranma replied, "I know it's serious. I'm hoping that just the threat of it will be enough to get Shampoo and Cologne to leave me alone. But a threat that you aren't willing to carry out is nothing better than a bluff."

The older woman nodded. "There is truth to what you say. I will look into it."

"Thanks Mom. I really hope it doesn't come to that, but I want to be ready if it does."

Ranma finished his meal in silence, clearly deep in thought. Genma considered the conversation at the table and for once didn't try to badger the boy about it. If he was actually considering declaring a blood feud against the Amazons then it was almost certain that the so called marriage between the boy and Amazon girl was out the window. He had to admit that the girl's actions at the wedding warranted action but a blood feud seemed extreme.

What did this mean for the "relationship" with the okonomiyaki girl? She was as guilty of stepping beyond the bounds as the Amazon girl. She had also thrown bombs made of exploding food. Ranma hadn't mentioned declaring a blood feud on the Kuonji family. Maybe he was keeping that in reserve as well. Likely he would want to talk to the girl before doing anything. If only the boy didn't let his supposed friendship with the girl lead him into softening his stance on the matter. For now Genma approved of the direction the boy was taking and was not inclined to interfere.

After dinner the Ranma went into the dojo. He took with him a broom and dustpan. He was joined shortly by Akane and Kasumi. While they worked on cleaning up the mess, Ranma commented, "Nabiki should be here. This is at least partly her fault."

With an expression of disgust, Akane shook her head. "I can't imagine she'll want to get her hands dirty. She'll do stuff like put together the order for lumber to repair the building, but will leave the actual work to others. She's like that."

Kasumi advised, "Once we get the pieces of walls and ceiling cleared, we should concentrate on cleaning up the remains of the food from the reception. If that is left too long this place will start to smell really bad when the food spoils."

The others grunted in agreement and set to work. It was fairly late by the time they had the dojo cleaned up enough for Kasumi. She pronounced that they had done what they could for the present and the rest was a matter of carpentry. At least all of the food waste and scraps were disposed of and set out for regular garbage pickup. A lot more work was left, but at least it wouldn't stink.

When Ranma got to the guest room he found Genma already there. His father was in human form for a change. The older Saotome asked, "Son, are you sure about that blood feud with the Amazons? There are more of them than there are Saotomes."

Ranma frowned. He had to be honest about it. "No I'm not sure. I'm not even sure if I want to declare the feud on the whole tribe or not. I don't know that all of them are as bad as Shampoo and the Old Ghoul. In fact I think it's likely that they may even have some decent people in that tribe. It's just that we haven't met any of them."

He shook his head. "No, I just want that as a threat. I think it's far more likely that any feud that we start will be with the Old Ghoul's family and not the whole tribe. As it is I plan to put it out there as something to do if she and Shampoo don't agree to back off and leave me alone. If Shampoo keeps pushing and especially if she does anymore stuff like drugs, magic or taking hostages, then the feud is on. Especially if she takes hostages."

The older Saotome considered that. "So you plan the feud as a last resort contingency?"

Ranma nodded. "Yep. If she gets difficult, I will let the Old Ghoul know that I'm thinking of it."

The bald martial artist nodded. "That seems like sound tactics. I'll leave the matter in your hands then. Have you given thought to how you will deal with the Kuonji girl?"

Sighing, Ranma said, "I'll need to hear her side of the story. Since she at least was a friend, I owe her that much. If she can't give a good account of her actions and reasons for them, then the friendship is over and I'll have nothing more to do with her. If she wants to press on with that 'revenge' her father wanted, then I may need to pay a visit to her father and convince him that he needs to fight his own battles instead of getting his daughter to do it for him."

Considering his son's words, the elder Saotome said, "That sounds reasonable enough. What if the girl can convince you that she meant no harm?"

The boy said, "I'm still going to have to make it clear that friendship is all I ever wanted. When I told her that she's cute I wasn't trying to start a romance. I was just trying to pay a compliment to a friend. I was trying to tell her she should have no trouble getting a guy to be her husband. I didn't mean for me to be that husband."

"Why have you never told her this before?" demanded Genma.

"I tried," Ranma insisted. "I guess I got tongue-tied and couldn't say it in a way she wouldn't misunderstand. I'm more determined this time. I've got other reasons too, and I'm not going into them now."

"I see." Genma was silent for a moment. "For the path you are advocating, I will back you, if you need me. At present I think I might be more of a problem for you than a help. Neither of those girls thinks too highly of me."

That much was certainly true, but rather than risk the fragile sense of rapport he had with his father at the moment, Ranma decided wisely not to comment. He just said, "I have a lot to do tomorrow. Goodnight, Pop."

The older man grunted and lay down on his futon. Ranma shook his head and settled himself for sleep as well. It had been an emotionally draining day, one of incredible ups and downs.

As he lay on his futon, Ranma pondered what had happened with Akane. He had learned things about the tomboy that he had never suspected. The frustration over wanting sex with a dick girl and not being able to find one was somewhat understandable, but that didn't mean that the mallet was justified.

This was just so confusing. He hated turning into an even worse freak than he had been. Yet now Akane acted like she was fully on Ranma's side now and willing to face anything to stay with him. Or at least she seemed willing to face anything to spend time with the martial artist's cursed form. Ranma had long felt attracted to Akane, most especially when she smiled. That was one of the only reasons why he had put up with the girl's temper and penchant for using a mallet.

If Akane was to be believed, she had felt attracted to Ranma as well. It now turned out that the attraction was almost completely for his girl side but with a single bizarre exception. Now that the cursed water had added a copy of Ranma's penis to his cursed form, Akane claimed that she loved him... her... whatever, and lusted to have sex often with her.

Ranma had heard stories of celebrities and others who complained that they were wanted only for their bodies. The fact that Akane had said she only wanted sex with Ranma in cursed form suggested something similar. Was Akane's attraction to Ranma solely because of the physical attributes of his cursed form? Still it was better than being reviled as a freak.


Author's Note: Akane has revealed herself to be more of a pervert than she ever accused Ranma of being. Will she succeed in getting the water to change herself as she wants? Will Ranma resort to declaring a blood feud with the Amazons? Stay tuned.
